The Museum Schnütgen, located near the shopping mall “Neumarkt” is currently displaying a great selection of delicate rock-crystal-fabrications. The collection contains reliquaries, repositories that were used as royal ceremonial vessels, optical lenses, cooling balls and many more varieties of the precious crystal. In addition, the Cologne rock-crystal workshop that has been discovered in 2005, is presented in combination with panel paintings, sculptures and manuscripts for insights into the significance of the transparent mineral.
The exhibition is available until March 19th, 2023 at the Museum Schnütgen in Cologne.
