Until April 18th, 2023, the Open-Air-Exhibition ‘Germans of the 21st Century’ by photographer Oliviero Toscani is displayed at the ‘Neumarkt’ in Cologne. The presentation is free for everyone and can be visited 24/7. It contains 100 larger-than-life portraits representing the diversity of the German society today as well as the transformation leading to it throughout the past decades. The portraits have been selected from a series of 800 pictures that have been taken in the streets of Germany as a tribute to the photographer August Sander’s series ‘People of the 20th Century’, whose creator Toscani has met himself as a young student and who has influenced him tremendously.
On March 30th, 2023 and April 6th, 2023, there is a presentation of the related documentary ‘Look at Me, Germany!’ taking place at 8pm at the Cineplex in Cologne.
